Structural Integration

Rolf Practitioner

Focus is on our relationship with gravity, and how our alignment and movement may be compromised. Explores how we use and experience the body. Fascia is manipulated to release holding patterns so the body can be at ease in gravity instead of bracing against it. Working with fascia can access proprioception such as sport specific movement or learned habits and posturing; it can access somatic (body) memory such as emotions, injury guarding & trauma. We build awareness over several sessions to restore health and vitality, achieve specific goals, or do periodic tune-ups.

Anatomy in Motion

Restoring innate movements that have been lost over time from injury, repetitive patterns, learned habits or traumas. Our compensations and adaptations are the amazing way we can still do the activities we love. But while some areas are overworking and others are shut down, we build up imbalances and chronic pain. Restoring natural movement also restores physical ability, balance, strength, and flexibility.

Claudia Sorensen

My journey started with practicing Reflexology, Ayurveda, Thai and deep tissue massage (for 15 years). I became a Personal Trainer (for 5 years) and Yoga instructor (since 2007). Mountain bike coaching was in the background for many many years. Structural Integration became my main focus since 2011. Even then I’ve been passionate about continuing to study the body with in-person class, online courses, or weekend workshops in Anatomy in Motion, Somatic Experiencing®, Compassionate Inquiry, Ortho-bionomy®, Meditation and Breathing, Energy balancing, BodyTalk, and Permaculture amongst others.

Through all of this I’ve seen so many remarkable recoveries and changes that it’s given me a respect for the healing powers of the body. I prefer not to overlay further demands on a challenged system with more stretching and strengthening, but to use awareness, mindful touch, and movement. Change can’t be forced. I have seen chronic pain disappear given the right environment and believe this possible of anyone.

In all the ways from creating posture, movement habits, storing emotions and body memories, healing, and reacting to our thoughts and beliefs. They also cover a few other things like the function of the feet, shadow work, programming the nervous system, how to become aware of and change our unwanted beliefs, and avoiding burnout.
